Feeling versus Pretending to Feel

If we took a day and tracked our emotions we'd probably come up with at least a few. Maybe at the start of the day we felt a little anxious. Then perhaps excited. Maybe bored and finally relieved. But how do these emotions actually feel? Why do we believe some are a problem to feel and others are not? How do you know anxious from excited? Why does it matter? All of this stuff actually really matters. But we're hardly ever taught why. We're conditioned to experience our feelings a certain way. The way that many of us experience them is not helpful. It's why we feel stuck. You might wonder why I care so much about feelings as a career coach. Why am I not more focused on aptitude tests, resumes, and job descriptions? Because at the heart of everything worthwhile is a feeling. When you understand the feeling, you can get to the thought. The thoughts and beliefs about what you want, what you believe about yourself, others, and the world at large. What you think you're good at and what you think you're not, your resume, job descriptions...all just a bunch of tangled up thoughts and feelings.

It's more important than ever to start paying attention to what you believe, to bring about awareness to the way you're showing up in the world. Uncover what's worthwhile, then you're left with why you believe you can't have it. Why you think and feel like you can't have what you want. See? Just a tangled up pile of thoughts and feelings. Work with me and you'll get to know all about your thoughts and feelings. We'll get them untangled. Then the rest is much easier. Have a chat with me.
